DESIGNER AND MAKER SPACE - USER AGREEMENT
Thank you for your interest in using Designer & Maker Space at
Meg Parry Studio, 86 Burlington St, Oakleigh, VIC 3166.
We are excited to introduce you to using the space, but first please carefully read the Terms and Conditions outlined below and complete the induction form.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SPACE AND EQUIPMENT HIRE
In general;
- If you are interested in using the hot desk area for an extended period of time please do advise Meg as it is highly recommended and encouraged you take out Public Liability Insurance Cover.
- As a co-working space, it is important to respect those around you by conducting yourself in a professional manner, understanding spatial awareness and considering noise levels.
- It is essential that you understand you are responsible for your own safe professional practice in the hire space and are accountable for your personal well being.
- It is mandatory to be vaccinated for Covid-19 and be able to provide proof upon request.
All equipment hire conditions;
Before you start using any hire equipment within the Designer and Maker Space, you will be required to undertake a one-off Occupational Health and Safety/Work Place Induction for a fee of $30.00 AUD. This is an opportunity for any questions you may have about specific equipment, it includes basic refreshers/demonstrations included (if needed), as we understand machines can vary in build and design.
Operating the equipment:
It is essential you are already familiar with using industrial sewing machine equipment. This is for your own safety, along with to ensure that you are not faced with any difficulties operating the equipment.
If you require some private tuition in operating the equipment and perhaps even learning how to use industrial sewing machinery, please book a 1 hour private tuition session with Meg upon making your Induction OHS booking through the booking calendar.
Industrial equipment is generally very hardy and made to last. All equipment is in good working order for you upon arrival. If there is any misuse of equipment you will be required to pay any subsequent repair fees.
Tools, Materials and Notions:
You must supply your own sewing kit which may include things such as fabric scissors, pins, sewing needles, chalk etc, which you may need for your specific projects.
Pattern Making Paper and card is available for purchase - Pattern paper is 50c per metre and pattern card is $2 per metre (Card, Direct Deposit and Cash Payment is accepted for these items)
Any hardware; eyelets and snap fasteners are purchased separately. Hire of hand press is $10 per hour.
Machine needles come set up with each industrial machine. If broken, and not replaced, there is an additional charge $1.00 replacement charge per needle, unless supplying your own.
Please supply your own thread, materials and notions for your projects. Only a limited supply of notions are available on site for purchase.
Please leave the hire space and equipment neat and tidy, as you found it.
Please dispose of any larger fabric scraps, paper/card/recyclables, general waste in the different allocated bins after you finish using the space.
Booking and payment options;
A minimum of 1 hour is required for any casual booking.
Cancellation, rescheduling fees apply - Cancel 24 hours in advance or reschedule will result in a $20.00AUD administrative fee.
No Shows - As we hold the space for your time slot, please understand we do not refund your booking for No Shows.
All bookings are made through the platform Calendly. You will have access to the calendar schedule 4 working weeks in advance, which sends out automated reminders 48 hours prior to booking, allowing you the opportunity of 24 hours to reschedule if need be prior to the final 24 hour period.
Space and equipment is subject to availability, please ensure booking time slot is made and confirmed via email using booking system Calendly.
